Police appeal after woman hurt in hit and run

Police at Park Gate have appealed for witnesses after a woman on a mobility scooter was injured in a hit-and-run collision.

The 61-year-old from Fareham was on Gosport Road, Stubbington, at the crossing into the village, when she was struck by a dark coloured vehicle which failed to stop.

The woman received bruising to her head and the right-side of her body as a result of the sollision which happened just before 10.30am last Tuesday (July 24).

PC Nicola Gawthorpe said:  “This collision has left the woman very shaken, affecting her confidence in going out on her own.

“I am appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist with identifying the driver or the vehicle involved.”
