Confetti will rain from the sky and an aerial acrobatics performance will take place during the official opening of Whiteley Shopping Centre on Thursday (May 23).

Five days of family entertainment have been planned for shoppers when the gates to the long anticipated centre open at 11am.
Street entertainment will take place at the big launch including stilt walking band of musicians Top Bananas and Granny Turismo racing around on Segways, balloon modelling and food sampling from retailers.
And TV star and actress Denise Van Outen will cut the ribbon at the Mamas & Papas outlet. She will also give a reading from her book Bumpalicious which charts her own experience of pregnancy and birth.
From fashion showcases presented by Whiteley’s personal stylist to children’s crafts taking place in The Treehouse, there will be much to see during the five-day events.

Thursday May 23
9am – Wave FM begin the celebrations with an outside broadcast
10am – Photo booth in The Treehouse opens
10.55am – Countdown to Whiteley’s grand opening
11am – Whiteley officially opens. Street entertainment begins
5pm – Street entertainment finishes
6pm – Children’s activities end
7pm – LED stilt walkers and Glowing Peacocks
7.45pm – Heliosphere performance
8pm – Whiteley closes

12noon – Fashion show Whiteley Edits takes place every hour on the hour. Last one at 5pm
