A woman from Park Gate has pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving following the fatal collision that claimed the life of Marcus Lowbridge last March.

Angela Rawson, 56, of Northmore Road, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court today (January 2). She spoke only to confirm her name and to enter a not guilty plea.

The case was adjourned pending further work by the legal teams and to ensure the availability of people involved in the case.

She remains on unconditional bail and a trial has provisionally been set for June 10.

Mr Lowbridge, died when his Suzuki GSXR motorbike collided with a Nissan Micra car on Hunts Pond Road, near the junction of Admirals Road, in Park Gate, on March 10 last year.

The 20-year-old, who lived at Ilex Crescent in Locks Heath, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he died shortly before 10pm.

Numerous tributes were paid at the time to Mr Lowbridge, a former Brookfield School pupil, who worked at a garage and part-time as a nightclub bouncer in Southampton.
