A 20-year-old man from Warsash has been banned from the roads after he was caught driving at more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
Thomas Lindley of Warsash Road was arrested after driving a Peugeot 206 on Gosport Road in Fareham with 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath – exceeding the limit of 35 microgrammes – on January 25.
He pleaded guilty the charge when he appeared before Fareham magistrates and they disqualified him from driving for 18 months.
Lindley was also fined £180 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
