A man who died after falling from a bridge over the M27 on New Year’s Day has been named by police.
Former Barton Peveril College student Ryan James Perks, 25, of Pyland’s Lane in Bursledon, died at the scene after falling onto the carriageway at Hedge End shortly after midnight.
A statement from Mr Perks’ family said: “The family are devastated at the tragic loss of Ryan.
“He was a gifted, caring young lad with a great love for life, his family and friends.
“He was an ex-pupil at Wildern Secondary School and Barton Peveril College. He left Microlink in Chandlers Ford to pursue a portfolio career in music, film and photography plus involvement in the launch of a new clothing range.
“He loved skateboarding and playing basketball.
“Ryan was a wonderful son and brother who will always be loved and missed.
“His was a beautiful life cut short.”
Police are investigating Mr Perks’ death, although it is not thought to be suspicious.
