Jobseekers will use a web-based programme at Fareham College’s Employment Hub facility.
It is hoped the job-finding system – similar to the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service – where jobseekers input their requirements by industry and location – will save people valuable time because vacancies from all job boards and recruitment companies will be in one place.
The internet programme can be accessed from home.
The Hub will also allow employers to recruit for their business on tailored open days to ensure jobseekers can find specific vacancies that are suitable to their qualifications. An advisor will be onsite at the college to help with job seeking needs.
Mr Hoban said: “It’s a really competitive market and students at Fareham College achieve really good qualifications. The Employment Hub will enable them to get the best possible support into work and get the job that’s right for them. It’s a great initiative which sits well with the college’s commitment to give young people opportunities and we need businesses to support the Hub.”
The Hub will provide screened candidates for employers to choose from and will also support unemployed people to find work with programmes that focus on core employability skills.
All users will be able to attend workshops in CV Writing, interview techniques and more from the Hub’s advisor, Stephanie Deighan.
The Employment Hub is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8.30am to 5pm and Fridays at 8.30am to 4.30pm.
