A man pulled over by police in Warsash was found to be more than twice the legal drink drive limit.
Neil Edwards pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Clio on Warsash Road with 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath on December 9. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
The 23-year-old of Elm Drive in Market Drayton, Shropshire, was fined £500 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £50 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Fareham magistrates also disqualified Edwards from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 17 months.
