Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a wallet was stolen from its owner in Whiteley and the bank card used at a cashpoint in Titchfield.
Police said the wallet was taken from its owner – a 44-year-old man from Fareham – while he was at the Solent Hotel in Whiteley.
Before he realised it had been taken the thief had used the bank card at a cashpoint at a petrol station in Titchfield and stolen £1,000.
The cashpoint was used by the thief at 6.45pm on April 19 but police only issued their appeal for witnesses today (May 31).
Investigating officer PC David Lynn said: “CCTV enquires has resulted in an image of a man that we wish to speak with about this theft. If anyone can identify this man, please contact me on 101 at Fareham.”
