Titchfield residents are being urged to have their say on a consultation about conserving the Titchfield Abbey Conservation Area.

The consultation, by Fareham Borough Council, is running until June 10 for people to comment on the draft updated Character Appraisal and Management Strategy for the area.

This identifies the features that contribute to the architectural and historic interest and character of the conservation area and explains how the council aims to conserve its special character and appearance.

Councillor Keith Evans, Executive Member for Strategic Planning and Environment, said: “We would like as many people as possible to comment on the document and let us know how we can conserve the character of Titchfield Abbey. Individual letters have been sent to properties and landowners within the conservation area boundary and site notices are also in place.”

A display will be at The Titchfield Community Centre where a copy of the document and a paper comment sheet can also be picked up.

An Officer will be there to help with any enquiries at the following times:

Mornings – 10am to mid-day – on May 21 and June 7

Afternoons – 2pm to 4pm – May 23, May 30 and June 6

Evenings – 5pm to 7pm – May 16 and June 4

More details on the consultation are at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
