Pupils from St Anthony’s Primary School in Titchfield Common will be performing an interpretational dance in the Rock Challenge at Portsmouth Guildhall later this month.
St Anthony’s School prepare for the Rock Challenge
The pupils from years three, four, five and six are taking part in the Rock Challenge event where each group has an eight minute slot for their routine.
The theme that the St Anthony’s pupils have chosen for their dance recital is the Life of Moses. They will be interpreting the ups and downs of his life into their dance performance.
The dance contest consists of three rounds. If they get through this stage they will compete in the semi-finals against schools from across the UK.
Roxy Ashworth, the deputy head and the leader of the music department at St Anthony’s said: “The children are very excited about the big event on April 26.
“We’re very lucky to have a very talented group of year six girls, who have choreographed almost the entire dance and have been teaching it to the rest of the Rock Challenge group.”
