Pupils at Hook-With-Warsash Academy will today (March 26) be performing their Easter ceremony at Winchester Cathedral for the third year.

And although they have performed in the cathedral in the past this will be the first time they have been the only school there to perform their lunchtime Easter concert Rabboni.

During past concerts they performed with another school.

The 240 pupils in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 will take the stage for the Easter concert, which was written by one of the teachers from Hook-With-Warsash Academy.

Head teacher Chris Hines was overjoyed that the school had been asked to repeat their performance at Winchester Cathedral.

“While we usually do our own musicals at our school, the children have been quite awe inspired to perform in such a venue as the Winchester Cathedral,” said Mr Hines.

“As we are the only primary school doing these performances in the venue, the children are extremely excited to perform where professional singers have performed before because it feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
