A 24-year-old motorist from Locks Heath was fined for driving without due care and attention after a crash on the A27 in Lower Swanwick.
Police said Jim Michael Thomas was pulling out of the former Spinnaker Inn pub car park when his VW Golf collided with a Ford Fiesta.
Thomas was fined £150 by magistrates in Fareham after they heard he failed to look properly while overtaking the stationary Fiesta car on Bridge Road and caused the 79-year-old female driver a minor injury.
She was taken to hospital as a precaution but sustained only bruising. The incident happened at 1.10pm on July 2 last year.
Thomas pleaded guilty to the offence and was also ordered to a pay victim surcharge of £15 and court costs of £65.
His licence was endorsed with four points.
